Work With a Published Maternity, Newborn and Smash Cake Photographer

Kelly Saxon Photography was proudly published and featured in Bump, Baby & Beyond Magazine in 2024 as the Best Maternity and Newborn Photographer in Tennessee. Specializing in maternity, newborn, and cake smash photography, I feel incredibly honored to capture the most fleeting and beautiful moments in a family’s journey. I truly love my job because every session is a chance to freeze time—to document the glow of motherhood, the delicate details of a newborn, and the pure joy of a baby’s first birthday. Creating timeless portraits in my cozy Christiana, TN studio brings me so much joy, and I cherish the trust families place in me to preserve these milestones.

Whether you’re capturing the joy and radiance of your pregnancy, welcoming your little one into the world or celebrating the "big day", working with a trusted photographer is the key to creating tangible memories that last a lifetime. If you’re looking for a maternity, newborn or smash cake photographer in Murfreesboro or the surrounding area, I’d love to work with you!

I’m passionate about newborn photography and maternity photography, and my highest priority is to make you and your family feel comfortable as we take photos that you will absolutely cherish for many years to come. About Kelly

When I am not working full time as a photographer, I live a very busy life with my family.

This me and my little family....Married to my high school sweetheart (yes, we’re still madly in love—most days!), I’m also the proud and slightly frazzled mom of three busy teenage daughters who keep me on my toes with cheerleading, softball, and constant group chats I can’t keep up with. Life is beautifully chaotic, fueled by chocolate, Mexican food, and the occasional escape into the Real Housewives drama—because sometimes, watching someone else’s chaos is just therapeutic. Between photographing sweet babies and surviving teen girl energy, I’ve learned to laugh often, love hard, and never underestimate the power of queso.

Our 3 Girls

Life with three curly-headed teenage daughters is a full-on adventure, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything (okay… maybe one quiet weekend, a nap, and a pantry that stays stocked longer than 12 hours). My oldest is heading off to college soon, and I’m somewhere between bursting with pride and Googling “how to let go without sobbing in public.”

My middle daughter has fully launched her teenage career as a cheerleader, and as she heads into high school, it’s clear that cheer is no longer an activity—it’s a full-blown lifestyle. We’re talking giant bows, constant glitter explosions, and a calendar that makes my head spin and my coffee cup shake.

Then there’s my youngest, who’s giving us a daily dose of hustle with softball and competitive swimming. If she’s not sliding into home plate, she’s racing laps like a mini Olympian—and somehow still manages to leave behind a trail of wet towels, cleats, and empty snack wrappers.

Oh, and did I mention I’m also a full-time maternity and newborn photographer. When I’m not running to games, practices, or drying another load of laundy, I’m in my cozy studio capturing the sweetest baby yawns, squishy newborn poses, and glowing mamas-to-be. It’s a dream job that I absolutely love—but let’s be real, it takes some serious juggling. Balancing diaper changes one minute and cheer competitions the next should be an Olympic event in itself.

With a house full of strong-willed, curly-haired girls, every day feels like a mix of beauty pageant, pep rally, swim meet, and snack-time showdown. And smack dab in the middle of it all is the love of my life—my high school sweetheart and the only man in a sea of estrogen and detangler. He deserves a trophy… or at least his own bathroom.

Life is loud, chaotic, and bursting with love—and I’m just out here doing my best to capture precious memories for my clients, cheer for my girls, and maybe—just maybe—drink a hot cup of coffee while it’s still warm.

Oh, and the beach is my ultimate happy place!
