How our Sessions Work
- Information about Newborn Sessions at Kelly Saxon Photography
- Every newborn session takes place in our cozy Christiana, TN studio, located in Rutherford County just outside Murfreesboro. Our studio is designed with newborn comfort and safety in mind, making it the perfect space to capture your baby’s earliest memories.
- When to Book Your Session
- Newborn sessions are best booked during your second trimester to guarantee your spot on our calendar—we book up quickly! Your session will be scheduled for when your baby is 5–20 days old, the perfect window for capturing those adorable, sleepy newborn poses.
- Your session date will be based on your due date. If your little one arrives earlier or later than expected, we’ll adjust your session date to make sure we capture your baby at just the right time.
- What to Expect at Your Session
- Newborn sessions typically last 1–3 hours, depending on the collection chosen. I will gently pose your newborn to create timeless images that become priceless works of art for your family.
- I encourage parents and siblings to join in the fun! Family images are included in most of our collections, allowing us to capture the love and connection that make this season unforgettable.
- We Provide Everything You Need
- From props to wardrobe, we’ve got you covered! I provide all the:
- Adorable newborn outfits and wraps
- Sweet headbands, crowns, bonnets, and caps
- Cozy props and studio setups and backgrounds
- All you need to bring is your sweet baby and a few personal items listed in your Newborn Prep Guide (sent after booking).
- Special Props for Tiny Details
- For every session, I will select two special props to capture those precious detail shots—tiny toes, little fingers, and all the features you’ll want to remember forever. These props are photographer’s choice and do not count toward your allotted prop collection for the session.

Newborn Session~ All wraps, outfits and props will be provided
- 6 Month Session~ All backgrounds and props will be provided. Please provide an outfit.
- 1 yr Session~ Background and props will be provided. You will be asked to choose a background theme. Please provide a smash cake and outfit.
Set ups included in Birthday Splash Session:
- ~ Custom Theme Background with Coordinating Props (Cake Smash Images)
- ~ Bubble Bath on Theme Background (Post Cake Images)
Parent or Sibling Add-On – $75 per milestone session
Includes 2–3 poses with baby

Newborn Props and Wraps
Our studio is filled with a curated collection of newborn photography wraps and props designed to create timeless, artistic images. From handcrafted buckets and bowls to dreamy moon, heart, and star props, every piece is selected for both safety and style. We also offer textured layers, miniature beds, woven baskets, and seasonal accents to bring each session to life. Whether you're drawn to a rustic, whimsical, or minimalist look, we have everything needed to design a one-of-a-kind setup for your baby.
Additional images are available for purchase after your collections allotted images have been fulfilled
All sessions include selections from Kelly Saxon Photography's Newborn Outfit Collection, Prop Collection and Wrap Collection. Parents get the luxury of choosing their favorites from these collections. Everything needed for your session is included by Kelly Saxon Photography. If you have a sentimental item that you would like to incorporated into your session, feel free to bring it to your session.
Upon booking your Newborn session, you will receive a "Guide to your Newborn Session". This will help answer any questions that you might have about how to prepare for your session.
